Rhodium Plating

Mitsuya offers advanced engineering solutions for various industrial applications of rhodium plating. We provide rhodium plating known for its wear resistance and high resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Rhodium, discovered in platinum ore by William Hyde Wollaston in 1803, continues to be extracted as an impurity from platinum ore.

Rhodium exhibits the lowest electrical resistance among the platinum metal groups (Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir). Rhodium plating is renowned for its hardness, typically ranging from Hv800 to 1000, making it a durable deposit. It is extensively used for electrical contacts requiring exceptional wear resistance and high surface hardness. Our extensive experience includes the development of plating solutions tailored for sliding contacts over many years.
